MIO: Memories In Orbit Sets Course for January 20, 2026

New trailer revealed the release date for the upcoming indie metroidvania with captivating new images during the PC Gaming Show.

Following the reveal of the game’s demo, today Focus Entertainment and Douze Dixiemes are excited to announce the release date for their upcoming game MIO: Memories In Orbit. The space-bound metroidvania will reach us on January 20, 2026, as announced in a new trailer during the PC Gaming Show. Pre-orders start now for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series – granting a 10% discount to all the early grabbers. The demo is still available on Steam and the Microsoft Store. Video games as craft from a French Studio

The game is developed by Douze Dixièmes, a small French studio previously known for their acclaimed debut, Shady Part of Me. True to their creative philosophy, the team has crafted MIO in a deeply artisanal way, building the entire experience atop a proprietary, in-house engine developed specifically for the project. This approach has allowed the studio to shape every aspect of the game’s mechanics, art direction and atmosphere with complete freedom.

Cast light into an obscured past

Showing more of the unforgiving danger and atmospheric wonder of the game, the trailer lets us delve further into MIO’s mesmerizing sci-world that blends a mysterious narrative, challenging action gameplay and a spellbinding art direction.

Come January 20, players will uncover it all as MIO, a nimble robot who awakens alone aboard the Vessel—a vast, drifting spaceship left in ruin. Once maintained by AI caretakers known as the Pearls, the Vessel is now overrun by wild vegetation and malfunctioning machines. With the ship facing imminent shutdown, MIO must explore its labyrinthine depths, recover its lost memories, and uncover the truth behind the collapse.

MIO: Memories In Orbit launches on January 20, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Pre-orders are now live on Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 — with a 10% discount available on all platforms (on PS5, the discount is reserved for PS Plus subscribers).

Pre-orders on Nintendo Switch 2 will open on December 22.
